- whether or not they know or care, and
- whether or not we know or care.
(The answer is always use the Oxford comma.)
(The active voice, duh.)
(The data suggest? Blech.)
Language is culture.
People are a problem.
People are not, by definition, standards-compliant.
Simplify.
